Santa Monica Aircraft Detailing FAQs
How often should an SMO-based aircraft be washed?
More often than anywhere else in LA. For aircraft based this close to the ocean we recommend exterior washes on a monthly-to-six-week cadence with a full detail every 3–6 months — salt film does its damage between washes, not during them.
Can you work inside Santa Monica hangars with water restrictions?
Yes — waterless dry-wash methods are standard kit for us, and much of our SMO work is done exactly that way. We coordinate access with your hangar or the field’s FBO facilities and follow each facility’s rules.
Do you handle light jets at SMO or just pistons?
Both. The field’s community today is piston-heavy with an active light-jet contingent, and our process scales across it — same aviation-safe products, same masking discipline around pitot-static systems, scaled to the airframe.
