What ceramic coating is (and what it isn’t)
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your vehicle’s exterior surfaces to create a durable, hydrophobic layer that helps protect and simplify maintenance. It’s a major step up from wax and most sealants in longevity and chemical resistance, but it’s not a force field—proper washing habits still matter.
What it is:
A professional-grade protective layer designed for long-term gloss and easier cleaning.
A system that performs best when the paint is properly prepped and polished first.
What it isn’t:
Not “scratch proof.”
Not a replacement for careful washing or safe drying.
Not the same as Icon Rocklear or paint protection film (PPF) for rock chips.
- A maintenance-free approach to preservation or protection

What ceramic coating does for your vehicle

- Protects against common contamination
Helps defend your clear coat from UV exposure, bird droppings, road film, and grime that builds up fast in city driving. - Hydrophobic, easier maintenance
Water beads and slides off more easily, which helps reduce how much dirt clings between washes. - Gloss + clarity you can see
A properly installed coating enhances reflectivity and depth, giving you that crisp, freshly detailed look for longer. - Reduces the need for waxing
Instead of constantly reapplying wax/sealant, you’ll focus on simple maintenance washes and periodic topper care (if desired).
Why ceramic coating makes sense in Los Angeles
Between sun exposure, traffic grime, and airborne dust, vehicles in LA take a constant beating. A ceramic coating helps you keep your car cleaner for longer, reduces how often you need heavy decontamination, and keeps your paint looking sharp with less effort week to week.
If you park outside часто (street parking / driveway), commute daily, or just want your car to stay glossy without waxing every few months, ceramic coating is one of the best long-term upgrades you can make.

Which package should I pick? mini-guide
If you want easier washes and better gloss on a well-kept daily driver: start with an entry-level coating.
If your paint shows swirls or light haze and you want the biggest visual change: choose a package that includes paint correction.
If you want the most complete long-term solution: go premium with correction + coating + warranty coverage.
Our coating brands
We offer multiple ceramic coating systems so you can choose the right balance of gloss, durability, and warranty coverage. Some customers want an entry-level coating that makes washing easier; others want a premium, long-term system paired with paint correction for maximum clarity and protection. Either way, we’ll recommend the best option based on your paint condition and goals.
Prep work (this is what separates pro results from “just a coating”)
Our prep typically includes:
Deep decontamination wash to strip road film and buildup.
Iron removal to break down embedded particles.
Clay treatment (when needed) to smooth the surface.
Surface prep wipe to remove residues and ensure proper bonding.
Optional but recommended:
Paint correction (polishing) to remove swirls, light scratches, haze, and oxidation before coating.
What’s included (and what’s not)
Included with our ceramic coating service:
Ceramic coating applied to painted surfaces and applicable exterior materials (as quoted).
Exterior finishing details to leave the vehicle clean, glossy, and presentable.
Wheels/tires cleaned and dressed (level depends on package).
Basic interior wipe-down (light dust + touch surfaces).
Common exclusions (to avoid surprises):
Wheels (faces/barrels) coating unless your package specifically includes it.
Severe scratch removal or wet sanding unless quoted as an add-on.
Interior deep cleaning (available as an upgrade).
Ceramic coating vs PPF (Paint Protection Film)
Ceramic coating is ideal for gloss, easier cleaning, and chemical/UV resistance. PPF is the better choice for impact protection (rock chips, road debris) on high-hit areas like the front bumper and hood.
Many owners combine both:
PPF on high-impact zones.
Ceramic coating on the rest of the vehicle (and sometimes on top of the film) for easier cleaning and a consistent finish.
Aftercare & maintenance (so your coating performs for years)
First 48 hours:
Avoid washing.
Avoid sprinklers and unnecessary water exposure if possible.
First 7 days:
Hand wash only if needed (no automatic brushes).
Avoid harsh chemicals and aggressive scrubbing.
Ongoing best practices:
Use a pH-neutral shampoo and a safe wash method (microfiber + gentle drying).
Avoid tunnel car washes with brushes.
Book a maintenance detail periodically to keep gloss and hydrophobics at their best.

Frequently Asked Questions - Ceramic Coating Los Angeles
How long does ceramic coating take?
Most vehicles take several hours to a full day depending on size, paint condition, and whether paint correction is included.
How long does ceramic coating last?
Longevity depends on the coating you choose, how much prep/correction is done beforehand, and how you maintain the vehicle. We’ll recommend the right option based on your paint condition, parking situation (garage vs outdoors), and how you wash.
Will ceramic coating prevent scratches?
Ceramic coating is not scratch-proof. It can help reduce wash-induced marring when maintained properly, but improper washing (dirty towels, automatic brushes) can still create swirls.
Does ceramic coating protect against rock chips?
Not really. If rock chips are your main concern (freeway driving, canyon roads, construction zones), Icon Rocklear is the better solution for impact protection.
Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?
If your paint has swirls, haze, light scratches, or oxidation, paint correction is strongly recommended. Ceramic coating “locks in” the finish underneath it—so correcting first is how you get the most dramatic improvement.
Can you ceramic coat a brand-new car?
Yes—and new cars are often ideal candidates. Even new paint can have light marring from shipping, dealer washes, or improper drying, so we inspect the paint and recommend the right level of polishing before coating.
Can you ceramic coat a car with scratches or faded paint?
In many cases, yes, but results depend on the condition of the clear coat. We’ll inspect the paint and suggest correction steps first so the coating bonds properly and your finish looks its best.
What surfaces can be coated?
Depending on the package, ceramic coating can be applied to painted surfaces and many exterior materials (trim/plastics, glass, etc.). Some areas—like wheels, calipers, or specific exterior pieces—may be optional add-ons or package-dependent.
Are wheels included?
Some packages focus on paint and exterior panels only, while wheel coating can be an upgrade. If you want easier wheel cleaning and less brake-dust sticking, ask about coating wheel faces (and barrels if desired).
Does ceramic coating replace waxing?
For most customers, yes—ceramic coating reduces or eliminates the need for traditional waxing. Proper maintenance washing is still important, and some owners choose a coating-safe topper occasionally to boost slickness and hydrophobics.
Do you offer any warranty?
Warranty availability depends on the coating package you choose. We’ll explain what’s covered and what maintenance is required to keep the warranty valid.
